Dave O’Brien from Folsom Remodel gave new life to our dull bathroom. He and his assistant completely remodeled our bathroom and shower area to be more modern and functional. Dave can perform all the necessary work to remodel a bathroom (plumbing, tiling, painting, teardown, waterproofing, electrical, etc).
Not only is he a friendly and easy-to-get-along-with guy, but he is also very experienced and notes every detail that other contractors missed. He even fixed our garage and backyard gate for free that wouldn’t close properly. His prices are very competitive, does not overcharge, and is extremely trustworthy. I appreciated his extremely detailed estimate that breaks down the cost for every service. Other contractors were not nearly as detailed. In the end, our bathroom remodel was better than I would have ever hoped. The pictures speak for themselves!

I can’t begin to say how refreshing and great it was to work with Dave! From his immediate response to my inquiry message all through the process of remodeling our 2 bathrooms, Dave was the consummate professional! He pays strict attention to every detail and he does everything within his power to make sure the project is even better than you envision. Dave is an artist when it comes to tiling and finish work and the results are beautiful. He is busy, but if you’re fortunate enough to be able to hire him you will certainly not be disappointed. Contractor Dave O’Brien is a great find. He does it all: drywall, electrical, painting, closet shelves, and all with a meticulous eye for detail. He gives friendly, informed advice to help guide you through any. non-traditional remodels and was a trustworthy pleasure to have around for six weeks as we (well he) transformed our second floor loft into a new bedroom with a new closet and a new office with french doors. He also removed a second floor fireplace, encased the downstairs fireplace, to cover its 1970’s lava rock, removed a strange architectural feature that was a cutout between the two stories to extend the floor, installed lighting and all doors and painted the scariest two story part of the wall with fearless aplomb… I could go on. Five out of five stars. You’re lucky if you can get him—word of mouth means he’s busy. This man is incredible.

We first met Dave when we needed a shower valve and tile repair done during the sale of our home. Dave answered his phone, (call around and most contractors won’t answer their phone or even call you back after leaving a voicemail), was informative, prompt, and did quality work. We were impressed he cleaned his work space each day and would neatly lay all his tools out on a clean towel in preparation for the next day. So naturally when we moved into our new home, Dave was our first call for a BIG project. We hired Dave to do everything from demo to finishing work on our entire upstairs (3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms). In addition, Dave helped us open up our stairs and reconstruct some poorly designed and installed steps down to our family room. Living through an extensive remodel with 2 younger children can be quite stressful, especially for us type A people, but Dave made everything so easy and would calm my fears when a subcontractor would make a critical error, setting our schedule back, or we’d find something unexpected behind a wall. Dave is very particular about making sure his work is perfect and before I could point something out, he was already fixing or perfecting it. Dave is also pretty honest when he is not experienced with a certain repair/improvement, or frankly does not do that type of work. I appreciate that, over someone lying to you to score a few more bucks and ultimately sending you to someone else to fix it after he leaves (and more money going to the wind). I look forward to hiring Dave again to continue our update on our 1970’s home. Call Dave, you won’t be disappointed.

The 10’x10’x10’ shed we had Dave build for us turned out great. The job quote was reasonable and the work was completed in a very professional manner. The shed is solid and includes some useful added features. We could rely on Dave to put in a full days work on the shed and hit his promised completion date. We much appreciated the daily clean up of the work area. Dave’s work ethic, construction knowledge and attention to detail assures we will use him again on any future home renovation or repair projects. Thanks Dave!
